New venue, same great event! The 7th annual Swim Miami presented by Nike Swim is back and more competitive and spectator friendly than ever. The Miami Yacht Club on Watson Island nestled on the Julia Tuttle Causeway is the new home to Swim Miami. The new venue will provide swimmers a beautiful backdrop of Downtown Miami while Miami Beach seductively waits on the horizon. The pristine waters of Biscayne Bay offer a safe and competitive environment.
Among the new additions to Swim Miami, The race day venue will feature a live webcast courtesy of La Ley Sports, a Nike Pavilion with a large LED screen and sitting area with many sponsor booths, and an all-new Trislide/Foggle Pitstop, where participants can try a new cream to prevent chafing or rash.

Taking place on April 9, 2011 Swim Miami will showcase 5 events- the 10K, 4k, mile, 800m, and The K-9 Krawl World Championships. The race organizers have chosen to resemble a course similar to the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games. The 10K will be a 5-loop course, 2000m a loop accompanied with one water station, and the former 5K will become a 2-loop 4k modeled after the Ironman Triathlon. The second course will be 800m and will be 1-loop for the 10 and under swimmers or beginners and 2 loops for those competing in the Miami Mile.

Swimmers will be able to register online at swimmiami.net and pre-race Check-In will take place Friday April 8, 2011 at The Miami Yacht Club from 10am to 7pm. Parking on event day will be at Jungle Island for $5. For questions or comments, please email thesportspromoters@swimgym.net or call 305-273-1129.

*NOTE - IT IS FREE TO BE A SPECTATOR, HOWEVER, TO BE A PARTICIPANT YOU MUST REGISTER & PAY

Wasabi Fashion Kult presents “Midsummer Night’s Dream” a living fashion sculpture show making it’s debut at CONTROL Salon’s “Lose Control” garden party. A fashion exhibit transformed into an enchanted garden party, where beautiful fairies dressed with Betsey Johnson and styled with the romance and poetic scent of a midsummer night’s dream will bring the garden into life. The magical scenery will be captured on Kazilla’s canvas as she paints the mystical creatures live.

Please join us for this fantasy event where fashion, music, and art dress the night. Other installations will be presented by Monica L. Travis, Zusel Escriba, Rachel Page, Jason Peterman. Music by DJ Caroline Geys (Off the Radar & Kill Your Idol,) Haitian Hillbilly, and Desiree.

The redesign of the upstairs room at Electric Pickle has been a gradual process. Patrons of Electric Pickle have been privy to watching it unfold week by week... however there are a few big surprises yet to be revealed.

The El Bolero is the bastard love child of The Electric Pickle, in association with Mark Alan Diaz of MAD Design Group. Enter thru the side door and up the staircase to a whole new world... where old Miami meets, Chicago speakeasy, meets 1940's officers club... fast forward 2011, all mixed up in wicked cocktail and shaken!

A collaborative effort and design by , along with owners William Renuart and Tomas Ceddia.William Renuart's goal was to create a throwback/tribute to The El Bolero a nightclub his parents frequented in the 1950's.

Complimentary cocktails will be served from 10pm -12am and there will be a live performance by local psychobilly swing act VIVA LA VOX as well as performances throughout the night by world-class djs from NYC, Spain and the UK.

MAETRIK {Crosstown Rebels/ Valencia, Spain}

LEFTSIDE WOBBLE {Future Boogie/ UK}
MY COUSIN ROY {Wurst Records/ NYC}

Along with resident DJs:
Will Renuart
Tomas of Aquabooty
Captain Ridiculous
